The relationship between a client and a therapist should be one of trust and honesty. Clients
should recognize that this building relationship can take time. My hands on style of therapy helps
me to better understand the clients current struggles and to ensure the client's treatment contains
the level of empathy and compassion it deserves. Together, the client and I organize a treatment
plan and identify a support system. When working with children and adolescents, the family is often
active in the therapeutic process.
It is important that every client be fully informed about their diagnosis and treatment for which I
provide ample information about. Also, clients and I will frequently discuss the progress being
made in therapy as well as any “Do’s and Don’ts” relevant to the treatment plan that parents should
know about.
I am able to conduct phone sessions for those parents concerned about being in another city.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, specializing in helping women with eating disorders. I
received both my Bachelors of Arts and Masters in Health Science, Rehabilitation Counseling from
the University of Florida. I have been assisting women with eating disorders for several years in
both private practice and inpatient settings, including the nationally recognized Renfrew Center
for Eating Disorders.
Additionally, I have worked specifically with abused and neglected children and victims of sexual
abuse. First at a not for-profit agency focused on helping to place abused and neglected children
with healthy and loving families and most recently with the Child Protection Team, investigating
child abuse cases.
I have a strong understanding of the impact an eating disorder has on a family and the effect the family dynamic can have on an
eating disorder. I bring a dynamic and knowledgeable energy to every session whether individual, family, or in a group. It is this
energy that I feel helps patients down the path towards wellness.
